Holy Mountain of Prayer by Jimmie Scott Divine AppointmentHoly Mountain of Prayer

Isaiah 56:7 (NIV)
“these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer, Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

Everyone is aware of the most recent news involving Brussels, Syria, France, and Israel. When we pray, He listens with all types of requests through His Spirit within us. Lately, Jesus has been whispering this huge need for all the people of His World. Wouldn’t it be great if we could be super heroes? Oh, but we can, we are His ambassadors!

How many hours, I wonder, did Jesus spend in prayer? He told us about the time He requested Peter, James, and John to join Him in Gethsemane. He asked them to sit alert while He prayed. They fell asleep, even though they knew Jesus was seeking His Father’s Will.  Jesus knew . Our eternal life was given through His grace.  Jesus’ pain was ahead to die on the cross for us then.  Now, we can either fall asleep, or we can pray, to share the highest cost ever paid for the world and their eternal life with Jesus.

Many of us have appointments, meetings, a regular job, some reason to travel along our journey in life. I go to many doctor appointments because of a rare disease. He has shown me, how through my own selfish thoughts, there is joy just waiting. ” Pray, pray”, He says, “do not fall asleep behind the wheel of your car, your walk on the sidewalk, or your awaiting of an appointment.” Pray to meet someone who He is sending for you to share Him with. Don’t be surprised when this happens. Believe me, He sends them.

He will guide and whisper the need to your spirit.  Your selfishness will disappear filled with His Joy. There is a “gift” He asked me to design. The very first part was the use of two dollar bills I had saved. The idea of an envelope inserted with the money started, then the verse to have on the front in a label that was printed at an office store.  I buy little stickers of hearts, fish, birds, any thing that is representative of His Love and Creation of us.

James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of Lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”

When I pray, He gives me the “one” who He wants me to share it with. When given this gift, I ask them to read it aloud to me. The next question is what a good gift might be, they mention health, peace, happiness, and others. The precious good gift they never say is what I share with them; “You, you are a good gift”, God created you, His precious gift.” with a  blush, they look astounded, they cry or smile. Then, pray for this one question; “If you are the good gift, who is the perfect gift?” Some will answer with beautiful places or feelings, others answer with God, and then they answer with the best and perfect gift; “JESUS”.

When they do not answer, this is His great opportunity for me to listen for His Word. He will whisper again to you. He gives me His Word to share His excellent Promise of Salvation for eternity. Many will ask you how, and they will pray and accept Him into their lives. Remember the Spirit has planted the seed. He makes the impossible, possible, toward their eternal life with Him.

This “gift” has been shared with many of my sisters in Christ. They even pray for me when I tell them there is another appointment ahead. Then, then one time, I met a teenage boy. He had accepted Jesus, and then he said the most wonderful words. He had been bullied at school because of his great size. Yet his demeanor was like a teddy bear. He told me this; “Now I will make these to share Jesus who lives within me. I will show them His Love.”

I visited one of my sisters who had fallen ill. She loved chili, and I had made some for her and her husband. She asked me about some of the answers to the group’s prayer for the “gift”. She had not seen this before, because she had missed the times it was shown. A whisper came for me to give it to her.

Then it happened again. The same words of the young teenager echoed in my ears and touched my heart. She said she was going to make this “gift” and follow His Purpose of sharing Jesus in this way. She also said she is calling this a Divine Appointment. She said she has appointments too. We call this the “ripple affect”. He ripples the waves of His gospel fulfilling our oneness in Him.

Ephesians 6:18 (KJV)
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

FACING FANTASTIC by Jimmie Scott 2

Ephesians 1:13-14 New International Version (NIV)
13” And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.”

The day of our rebirth in Christ opens up a brand new account. Like every account we have, there is always a deposit made. The Holy Spirit is God’s seal, a free gift bought by Jesus our Savior, given to deposit. Unlike the accounts in this world, this is the highest type of account to man. Your sins can never over draw this account, because God’s signature is the seal. He promises you are His child forever.

My questionable prayer to the Lord sounds like this: “Dear Jesus, how can I make this account grow? What other deposits or interests can be made?”

The whisper I hear from Him is simple; “I gave you Gifts of the Spirit. The answer is there.”

1 Corinthians 12:7-11New International Version (NIV)
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.[b] 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and He distributes them to each one, just as He determines.”
When I read the scripture above on the different type of gifts He gives us, I realize they are a form of “work”. Verse 11 says, “all of these are the work of one and the same Spirit.” Work usually adds to an account. Good work. A job in this world will allow us to have food, a roof over our head, and other needs that He has provided for us to earn in that fashion. So, growing in the Spirit, is also a way to provide needs, not only our own, but the others who need Christ. The needs of the Spirit within us, is to spread the Good News of salvation. The Spirit will give us the tools, “the gifts” that are needed in each of us towards the inheritance of our accounts given by the grace of God.

Ephesians 1: 13-14 New International Version (NIV)
13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

Every job requires the proper tools, every job requires strength and perseverance to finish it. What are our tools? The gifts we are given by the Holy Spirit are the tools. We do not get to choose them, nor does anyone else. No one has the same gifts for a reason. God wants us all to work together for the largest account! The Kingdom of God! His Account! In our oneness with Christ, how many accounts of His promised inheritance do you suppose there is? It is mathematically divine, He is” The Heavenly Bank”. His “Love Account” is freely given through the blood of His Son, Jesus.

Bridge Over Troubles Waters by Jimmie Scott

Daniel 1:1-2 (NIV) New International Version
Daniel’s Training in Babylon
1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord delivered Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, along with some of the articles from the temple of God. These he carried off to the temple of his god in Babylonia[a] and put in the treasure house of his god.

When you come to one of those hard times. Perhaps your car was stolen, something broke down, or someone you love has died, it jolted your heart. It becomes so much like a ‘body hurricane” from your feet to your mind. Then comes the question, “Why God?” This grief overcomes your being and lets the darkness cause despair.

Remember the following verse for comfort:
Acts 17:28 (NIV) New International Version
28 ‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’[a] As some of your own
I am sure many men of Judah fell on their knees when they were so defiled. In their prayers, much like this situation, they cried asking God, “Why?” Suffering brings you closer to God. It seems heartless but He is doing it in His Love for you.

When as a child, your parents said “no” to a special event or party you wanted to attend. You were hurt and upset. Those times when they would clean out your closets and give some of your old favorites away. You asked them “Why”?
Many times your parents would say in response, “Because I said so, trust me”. This is their protection mode even while you cried. They wanted you to know they had “your best interest in love” for you. The end of those means would be so much better for you than you were crying about.

So, sure enough after all this, your parents had planned a very special trip to somewhere beautiful to see. One morning, your parents would say, “Let’s go shopping to find you a new wardrobe.” Now, your sorrow has turned to joy! You will give them huge hugs, and say “I love you”.

With these wonderful moments of joy after the storm, there is something you ask. “What was I afraid of: What could they possibly want to do against me? What a special blessing they had planned for me. The next moment you are thinking like a “tic-tac”. Feeling shameful for not trusting them. You ask them to please forgive you. What happens next is the intimate love that seals you together.

Do you get where this is going? God is our Father, He wants you to trust Him with your whole being.

Proverbs 3:5 (NIV) New International Version
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
What did God plan for the men of Judah? Throughout the Book of Daniel, God is showing His sovereign power. God showed the “what” of His Plan and Purpose. Daniel escaped the lions’ den. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednigo escaped the burning furnace, with not one singe on their bodies. Daniel was able to show perseverance by spending 70 years away from his home. He was able to show the promise of Jesus Christ coming soon to the world, the Messiah. This is God’s “what”. “What” He wants to give you is His unfailing, never-ending Love. He will never let you go, He will always be with you.

His Promise:
Colossians 2:2-3 New International Version (NIV)
2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,  in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
