“An Encore sweeps the Remembrance of Hope” quote by Joan G. Pfeiffer

The definition of encore is like a reappearance of something.  Many people have experienced a musical show where the people clap their hands in demand of another look at those who were seen.

Yes, Jesus’ reappearance, His Second Coming! There is more to understand. Sometimes God just says…slow down…be still…He is patient, and I am not so much. Patience is a virtue; it actually is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Prayer is an answer to the times when we become impatient.

Proverbs 25:2  (KJV)
“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.”

Although, God does not conceal Jesus’ return, He makes it a mystery. For instance we do not know “when” He will return, so He tells us to always be watching for Him.  He tells us to never keep our eyes off of Him.  This is the decisiveness of expectation for His glorious reappearing to this earth.

Have you ever experienced an “encore” in your life? Certainly in your studies, you reasserted the knowledge of some subject. Algebra is one that I remember doing this with. In fact I studied this mathematics challenge as many did. You could just sleep with the A+B=C in your mind at night, with nothing else visible in your dreams.

Or maybe you experienced like many have, the encore of a second date with someone you felt attracted to. Then when you finally marry the one you love, you have experienced the vows of an encore everyday that you spend with one another. The couple loves each other, again and again, even when the times are pulling you away from each other. My vows with my husband said, “In sickness and in health, for rich or for poor, till death do us part.”

Is it any wonder that God calls us His Bride and He our Groom? We have made a vow with Him, He has made a vow with us, and however, death will never part us from Jesus.
Revelation 21:2 (KJV)
“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”

That is the sanctification of our inexpressible and glorious joy with Him. He gave us our marriages as man and woman to understand the intimacy of oneness with Him. This is on the spiritual level, not the fleshly level. This is His perfect Love for us.

Yes, recently through all of the trials of these past three years with my brain tumor and unknown brain disease, my marriage has experienced a journey not many spouses will. My marriage has changed in the past thirty years. Not only to this time of disease, surgeries, and pain with sorrow.

I have watched many husbands and wives at several hospitals and treatments. One of them may have changed so physically, they can only look at each other’s eyes in adoration, because the hugging days are hurtful to the injured. It is unfortunate that I have watched many of them separate or divorce. Communication is so very important, and like many, my husband and I missed a great deal of it. Do we understand this whole thing? No, it is again a mystery. We just have to be patient and learn while holding hands in prayer.

Although God created the man and woman for a physical drive together, He also gave us the spiritual thriving that is the glue to our oneness. In the new reappearance of our marital journey, the spiritual closeness is searching for a connection as well. Satan has tried to use his lies to deceive us. A lack of trust through these lies has caused harmful forces to permeate our oneness. Through prayer and faith, I believe our marriage is finding a new plane just like our spirits do in Christ.

The encore is very different with new expectations of a more solid and enjoyable grounding. Jesus is the leader and I have left my disappointments at His Cross. Just keep our eyes on Him for His encore, He is coming again, remember His mystery.

Revelation 10:7 (KJV)
“But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.”

His Encore – His Reappearance will be finished as beautifully and powerfully as God planned.
