Confirming One’s Calling and Election

2 Peter 1:3 New International Version (NIV)
3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Can you see the thought process already? It is of course reminding us of a movie called “Batteries Not Included”. This time though they are included.

Batteries have a > and a < notification an a + and a – The > than indicates fully charged. The < than indicates not charged at all.

Look at our I phones, our I pads, and computers. How upset do we get when there is “no” power? Do you remember being underpowered with Jesus? Perhaps you did not pray or read His Word for quite some time. We just are not geared for that. We will lose our best friend, our first love in life. Imagine the grief that He must feel when we are not with Him. How much He misses us! How much did we realize His vacancy in us?

Imagine those times when you are fully charged! We experience the mysterious sovereign majesty of Jesus. We can see embellished parts of our hearts through His Love. No more feeling sorry for ourselves at all. Now the fullness of His calling and elections are our lives. It is all about Him!

Philippians 1:21New International Version (NIV)
21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Many of you may think, “to die” only means to die and go to Heaven. Look a little deeper and you will remember that we die to self when Jesus comes into our lives. So, we live in Christ because we died to self.

Romans 6:8-12 (NIV)
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires,

So, we have improved on our ideas to be powered batteries instead of empty batteries. What about the + and -? Those are the contacts provided for a circuitry of energy. If we were to connect the ends of the batteries in the wrong place, the energy would either blow up or do absolutely nothing. That means when we share the Gospel we need the correct connections. The Holy Spirit and God’s Scripture thoroughly equip us for every good work. If we skip that, our plug-ins could “blow up” His Message and miss the blessing, or we wasted His time completely.

I certainly do not want to blow up or waste my time. Something tells me you are thinking the same.

Thayer mentions at the end of verses or prayers, the word “Amen” is said. His definitions include, “may it be fulfilled”.

Most often, at the end of a solemn prayer to God, the response is Amen.

“May it be” Amen

“Why are you whispering this to me”, I asked Him. Not only did He whisper about “may it be”, but also a song I had not sung for many years. I sang it in the shower no less; “The Lords Prayer”. Do you think that the drops of water brought the melody? That deserves an Amen.

I know that today is the 7th day for so many, and yet, to share His Word is relaxing to my spirit. It is not work. Yesterday, I celebrated the Sabbath. Jesus said, “What day would we not provide for others”? This is when the Pharisees rebuked Him for healing a man on the Sabbath. What day is not a good day to share Jesus? Jesus said there is no day not to love one another and to do good for others. “Go and do likewise”, He said to the disciples.

Luke 10:36-37 King James Version (KJV)

36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

Then not a whisper came on my walk this morning, but a Firefly. Yes, early in the morning at dawn, he flew by. His light was twinkling on and off. So as to say, “remember your light is shining”. The Light of Jesus is never dim.

Thinking of a firefly, his light is flashing. Why do you think this happens? A few aspects are; mating, attracting prey, and then a real unknown phenomenon.

The theory lies behind a synchronized flash of a group in spontaneous order. This could be a form of communication. Imagine a firefly sharing something as profound as their creation.

We are lights like them in a way. We flash to each other as a church. We share are oneness of likeness in Jesus.

The mating is as God intended for a woman and man to do. He said to be fruitful and multiply. The attraction of prey can be attracting those who are still full of sin without salvation. Then they see the lights shining and want the same thing. The light.

John 8:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

1 Peter 1:8-9 New International Version (NIV)
8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

There are words that come to my mind when I read these verses. Where does my help come from? And the answer is; my help comes from the Lord. I wondered why the verses below this paragraph came to me with the others above? Then this roaring echo sounds in my heart to say you have not seen “Him”. Yet He is the Maker of heaven and earth. So I really am seeing Him since He created all that surrounds me. Maybe that is where our faith comes from, by knowing all that is created is from Him! I see Him everyday!

Psalm 121:1-2 New International Version (NIV)
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

It is enough. When I am in the middle of a storm, I know the whole time Jesus is holding me. There are so many who suffer for Jesus. He told us we would need perseverance.

Romans 5:3-5 New International Version (NIV)
3 Not only so, but we[a] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

We believe so easily those things we can use our five senses for. There is however, a sixth sense in man. Remember God’s Creation of us is His likeness? (Genesis 1:26) The spirit within us is created like Holy Spirit. When Adam and Eve sinned, they lost any type of holiness God had given them. Our sixth sense became nullified. Then Jesus, our Promise of salvation, arrived and was Resurrected from the dead, to reign forever. God then sent us another advocate – the Holy Spirit of Truth. Our sixth sense in our spirit is now able to combine with Holy Spirit.

John 14:15-18 (NIV) “Jesus says”:
15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

Holy Spirit’s truth sanctions the Gospel within us. We are now filled as the light of the world. Jesus says; “let your light shine that men will praise your Father in Heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16 (NIV)

Through our sufferings there is hope. Recall your Glory Moments and write them down. Do you know what our Glory Moments are? These are the impossible times that have become possible through Jesus. When He has shown you His power is alive.

Pray for Holy Spirit to assist you with His wisdom of truth. His light is within you with an inexpressible and glorious joy!!!!!!
