His name is Jesus, “the Lord saves”, His name is Immanuel, “God with us”.

I often wonder why we only hear these songs once a year. God is always with us, not just at Christmas time. I hesitate to even mention why we celebrate Christmas at the time we do anyway. Perhaps you know. In reality it does not matter, we celebrate Him. This is what matters, to celebrate Him.

The Apple of His eye, the people of Israel, where Jesus was born. The chosen people of Israel to give us the word of God. The son of David lineage, Jesus was born on earth. They seem to celebrate God many times. In Exodus 23:16 , He says; “Celebrate the Festival of Harvest with the first fruits of the crops you sow in your field.” This is a verse I have memorized. Celebrate! Oh, let’s celebrate! Let’s celebrate the first fruits, the seeds that we sow for Jesus, for the Gospel.

Shabbat was one of the most important celebrations God gave the Jewish. Is there a real reason that Christians cannot celebrate some of these days? I wonder if we did embrace the Praise of God with one another, that perhaps Jesus would be known as their Messiah. Maybe, they would see the oneness of Jesus. Their eyes are closed right now. What does Jesus want us to do?

He gave us the God given scriptures through His chosen children. They have closed their eyes to truth, and still search for the Messiah. He is already here! He reigns!

Together we could let the light shine through. The Light of Jesus is stronger than any darkness around us. How many Christians were born again in a celebrated service? How many pastors and those who speak the truth of Jesus, has God used? We should celebrate together! Immanuel, God with us!

Do we think that we cold not celebrate together? Isn’t the Passover as important to us as it is to them? Isn’t Shabbot as important to celebrate as it is to them? If we reach out with their celebrations, do you think they might be led to reach out to ours? After all, what is it that we would be celebrating together? The Love of God! If then the Spirit carries that Love to our hearts, do we think that Jesus will not be found?

So many times God has shown us this. One in particular is Jonah. He was sent to Ninevah to call upon the Assyrians asking them to repent their sins. Ninevah? Really?

2 “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.”

God had already put Jonah into a fish because he did not obey Him. Then God gave a miracle to Jonah, and saved him from the fish. I am sure Jonah thought he would drown.

Then after this wonderful miracle, for the second time God told him, yes, told him to go to the great city of Ninevah, to give them His message. Do you think that this time Jonah hesitated. That answer is no!

However, Jonah was so angry with God because He forgave Ninevah. After all Jonah had gone through to get this far, he was angry at God. This is not a place I would want to be, but I have been. I am sure many others have also. It is a piece of pride of self. You say, “wait a minute, God, wait a dog gone minute. Look what I had to go through to finally not be afraid to do your work”.

Do you know what God says to us? “Have you any right to be angry?” Do you know what Jonah says? He says in the self pity, wallowing in mud, “well, just take me Home Lord. For it is better for me to die than to live”. Oh, my God, I just got out of there myself! Self pity…shame on me, and in front of God my Father who loves me most. Shame, shame on me.

But Jonah, did not turn yet to see this. No, he felt so sorry for himself he found a place to make a shelter and watch what would happen to Ninevah. He was thinking, “I almost died to get this far, to see Ninevah destroyed by God”.

God made a vine to wrap Jonah from the heat in shade. God made a beautiful fresh vine. Then God let it scorch in the morning. He asked Jonah, again, “do you have a right to be angry with me?” Jonah says, “of course I do, I am ready to die.”
(feel sorry for me, just let me give up, he says)

God teaches a great thing to us and to Jonah. He says,” you have been concerned about this vine, but you did nothing to take care of it, to nurture it. And it died overnight. But Ninevah has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city?”

Now, there is an assignment He gave me today. Read all of Jonah. It is not long, but opens our hearts to His living Word.

What does this have to do with Israel and the church? Do we want Israel to be destroyed? Do we not want them to know that Jesus is their Messiah? Are there not thousands there who need to know their right hand from their left? Should we not be concerned about the city of God, Jerusalem? Let’s pray for them, because prayer is the strongest Power of God. Remember our Glory Moments? They come from our prayers.

22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,

I do not want to ever be like Jonah again. I do not want to ever think about giving up on the One who Loves me most. I know that what God sees is His city of Jerusalem in great need. Jesus is the Power of God through the Holy Spirit. How will they see His light unless He shines through us.

We are a light.

Just yesterday I received a message from one of our brothers in Israel. He mentioned to me how many Messianics, even a Rabbi have denounced their faith in Jesus. They were overcome by the lies of Satan.

So many of our brothers and sisters in Israel are kidnapped by family members and friends to “deprogram” their beliefs in Yeshua. Have you ever felt that Satan was telling you those lies too? I have, and Jesus has overcome.

This is, the house that the Trinity built. Have you ever heard the term “bring down the house”? When an audience came to a playhouse, this term was one of adoration. The stage was designed perfectly for the roles that were planned. The actors and actresses were adorned in clothing and voice. At the end of the play, rejoicing applause was unstoppable for quite some time. They brought the house down.

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit brought the house down! The awesome complexity of this is written in Genesis. I often wonder if I will really ever understand the immense art of His Word. He spoke, and it was done. “let there be Light”, and there was light. Then He separated it to create light and darkness.

How my mind wanders on this one part of His creation. Did He do this separation to devise a balance? There was day and there was night. He separated water from water. He called the dry ground “land”, and the gathered water “seas”. He created this graceful dance of a balance. He even made a man and a woman. Balance.

You must read Genesis 1 to understand what we can about this extreme stance. I have read this over 100 times and I still want to fall to the ground in praise. He is a creator, the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. The dignity of God, the deity of God, and the Love of God are difficult to fathom. We will never know all of the answers we want here on earth, but the Bible tells us what we need to know.

His total creation including perfect landscapes, the perfect animals, and the perfect colors, “brings His House down”; from Heaven above. This is my Father’s House.

Does God have another house? It seems to me that any part of His creation is a part of His house. Yes, that would mean us. He created us perfectly, and then we sinned. We are forever damaged goods.

God gave His only Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins forever. The damaged goods can now be seen as His perfect creations once again. The only thing we have to do is accept His gift to salvation. It is free!

I want to say that I am my Father’s House. I want to shine like the crystallized part He created. I want to take care of His beauty all around me. Most of all, I would love to hear Jesus say, “well done, my good and faithful servant.” Well done taking care of what He has given us that is so majestic.

There are times in our lives when there is an overbearing isolation. Many reasons cause these lonesome paths. Some mention the place we are in as Godforsaken situations. The Lord God has shown us a different way.

When David was trying to hide from Saul in the caves, he experienced this loathsome darkness. In Psalms 142 he cries out to the Lord for mercy. He feels imprisoned because no one cares for his life. There is no one to hold him and wipe away his tears.

In Psalms 143 he continues to pray in agony. He asks that God reveal Himself to him. He pleads do not hide Your face from me. David says if God does not rescue him; he will fall into a pit like others have before him. Then he realizes this to his prayer. “For your name’s sake, O Lord, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble. In your unfailing love, silence my enemies; destroy all my foes, for I am your servant.”

Then in Psalms 144, David’s prayer is of rejoicing in God’s care. God alone can make our lives worthy, purposeful, and joyful. David mentions in verse 3 and 4;”O Lord, what is man that you care for him, the son of man that you think of him? Man is like a breath; his days are like a fleeting shadow.” The meaning God gives me here, is do not waste your life. Praying with Him to do His will hold the same Power that rose Jesus from the grave. Think again how often Jesus prayed. How often were His times spent with His Father?

Time and again, God shows us how He can turn a thorn into a blooming flower. Something that appears so vile, now become one of beauty. Is that Him saying to us, though we are sinners Jesus’ blood has turned us white as snow?

His Living Word opens our minds and the eyes of our hearts. He floods the very embodiment of His creation. He washes the debris away. Old things are made new. Think of the old things, it is not your flesh. It is the spirit and soul that are made new. The flesh will become ash, but our life is spiritual.

We are entrapped in a prison of flesh. We will live in God’s eternal home with no more sin, no more pain, and no more tears.

Did you hear His whisper?

REFLECTING HIS WORD

Did we ever think that the names of the Books and chapters of the Bible are transcribed as chapters and verses? It is the only way to converse the locality of His Scriptures. But Jesus did not give the chapter and verse of His Word when Satan was tempting Him. He didn’t have to. When Jesus answered in His Word, it was perfect, and Satan knew well HIS WORD, but still tried to change it in his lies. What is the real importance of knowing His Word? We need to reflect it in the doing of it. If we just mirror it, nothing is accomplished. So we say, let His Light shine, we need to reflect His Word.

If you were to “google” the question; “ Why are there chapters and verses in the Bible?” The explanation will explain when and why. It is indicated that the Bible certainly was not written that way in the time of Jesus.

There is a scripture in the Bible. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God…. do you know where His Word of this is found in the Bible? But what if you do not. I know it, in my heart, that is where I know it; also my memory will stick in and say Romans 3:23. It is written there. .

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, Thou art with me, Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Yes, I do know this is in Psalm 23, but what verse? See, if it is in your heart, it is different than being in your mind. Can you really picture this? Walking in the valley of the shadow of death? Have you ever seen this inside of you? Your heart will remember; your mind will see the writing, but not know it. Where is our spirit, in our brain, or in our heart? (Romans 5:5) What is His Word? The Word is alive, He is breathing, thus all scripture is God Breathed.

The following scripture is a prayer of acceptance of Jesus as your Savior. Just think you will be my brother or sister! I need more!

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”[a]

Please pray and declare that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead. You will be saved if you believe in your heart that you are justified by your faith through His grace. Saved for all eternity! Now that is Amazing Grace!

There are more scriptures of course to remind us where His Spirit dwells within us. But the heart is not really our physical heart. That is very hard to understand. His ways are not our ways, how did He place it, it is spiritual not physical.

We always need to remember:

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

You would laugh at me to know how I remember this chapter and verse. Since I have a memory problem, there are ways I use, called association. In this case, my cousin’s name is Timothy, the oldest son of my uncle. The number 3 = love, 16 and 17 is his age when I remember him the most. He would pull on my ponytails. He is about 8 years older than me.

So how do I memorize the words? His Word melts my heart and stamps itself there. The next week, it seems something comes up in a discussion, and I need to use it. So I use it again and again, and before I realize it, it breathes from me. His God breathed word is breathed from Him in us.

Where is the Perfect Place on earth? The Perfect Place lives within you, Jesus, the Word, your first love, your Savior, your Redeemer, and you are one in Him.
